Alternative Name FOXP3 (FOXP3 Antibody Abstract)
Background FOXP3 (a 381 amino acid protein) is a member of the forkhead/winged-helix family oftranscriptional regulators and is highly conserved across mammals. FOXP3 is essentialfor normal immune homeostasis.FOXP3 is stably and constitutively expressed at a high level in CD25 + CD4 positiveregulatory T cells, a low level in CD4-positive/CD25-negative cells, and is absent inCD4-negative/CD8-positive T cells. FOXP3 may be a master regulatory gene and amore specific marker of regulatory T cells than other T cells. Alternate Names: anti-FOXP3 antibody, anti-JM2 antibody, anti-AIID antibody, anti-IPEX antibody,anti-PIDX antibody, anti-XPID antibody, anti-DIETER antibody, anti-SCURFIN antibody,anti-forkhead box P3 antibody, anti-scurfin antibody, anti-JM2 protein antibody,anti-immunodeficiency antibody, anti-polyendocrinopathy antibody, anti-enteropathyantibody, anti-X-linked antibody, anti-immune dysregulation antibody,anti-polyendocrinopathy antibody, anti-enteropathy antibody, anti-X-linked antibody,anti-Official Symbol antibody, anti-FOXP3 antibody.
Gene Symbol: FOXP3
Gene ID 50943
Research Area Immunology, Adaptive Immunity, Transcription Factors
Application Notes This antibody is useful for Western Blot CHIP, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin, and Peptide ELISA . Western blot: This antibody has been successfully used in WB for human T regulatory cells as described in the following paper: Godfrey et al, Blood. 2005 Jan 15,105(2):750-8, PMID: 15374887. In paraffin embedded Human Tonsil, stains nuclei of some cells in the interfollicular area. Chromatin immunoprecipitation: This antibody has been successfully used in ChIP from activated human T cells as described in the following paper: Stahl et al, PLoS One. 2009 Sep 24,4(9):e7158, PMID: 19777054.
Recommended dilutions: Chromatin Immunoprecipitation 1:200, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence 1:10-1:2000, Immunohistochemistry 1:10-1:2000, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 0.3-1 µg/mL, Peptide ELISA 1:8000, Western Blot 1:1000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Concentration 0.5 mg/mL
Buffer Tris saline, pH 7.3 with 0.5 % BSA, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment -20 °C.
