Description Beta-actin is one of six different actin isoforms which have been identified. Actins arehighly conserved proteins that are involved in cell motility, structure, and integrity.Because beta-actin is ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells, it is frequently usedas a loading control for assays involving protein detection, such as Western blotting.Antibodies to beta-actin provide a specific and useful tool in studying the intracellulardistribution of beta-actin and the static and dynamic aspects of the cytoskeleton. Alternate Names: Anti-A X actin like protein antibody, Anti-Actx antibody, Anti-Beta cytoskeletal actinantibody, Anti-Melanoma X actin antibody, Anti-PS1TP5BP1 antibody, Anti-Beta-actinantibody, Anti-Beta actin antibody, Anti-Actin, beta antibody.
Specificity Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Cat, Chicken, Cow, Dog, Drosophila melanogaster, Fish (carp andgoldfish), Guinea Pig, Human, Leech, Mouse, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, and Sheep. Detectsbeta actin in a wide variety of tissues and species. Does not cross react with adultcardiac or skeletal muscle or amoeba beta actin. Not yet tested in other species.
