Description
|
Members of Y-box binding protein family all contain a DNA binding domain, called the cold shock domain, of 80-amino-acid residues, which is highly conserved from prokaryotes to eukaryotes. A member of Y-box family, dbpA, was identified as the protein binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor enhancer or c-erbB-2 promoter. These Y-box binding proteins are reported to have multiple functions, such as the regulations of transcription and translation. Alternative names: Cold shock domain protein A (CSDA), ZONAB, CSDA1.
