Western Blotting (WB), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
    Specificity
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against Human MAGP-2 protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross reactivity with MAGP-2 protein from Human and chimpanzee based on 100 % homology with the immunizing sequence. Expect partial reactivity with MAGP-2 from Mouse, Dog and Rat sources based on partial (~75 %) sequence homology. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.
    Cross-Reactivity (Details)
    Species reactivity (tested):Human, Chimpanzee.
    Purification
    Immunoaffinity (from monospecific antiserum).
    Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region near the carboxy terminal end of human MAGP-2 protein. • Application Notes
This affinity-purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA (1/5,000-1/20,000) andWestern blot (1/250-1/1,000). Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by theend user. Expect a band approximately 20-30 kDa in size corresponding to MAGP-2 proteinby Western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background
MAGP-2 is a secreted, extracellular matrix protein which is a component of the elastin-associated microfibrils. It forms intermolecular disulfide bonds either with other MAGP-2 Molecules or with other components of the microfibrils. MAGP-2 is upregulated in some ovarian cancers and is associated with poor survival of ovarian cancer patients.Synonyms: MAGP2, MFAP-5, MP25, Microfibril-associated glycoprotein 2, Microfibrillar-associated protein 5
