Immunogen Recombinant human adiponectin (15-244 aa) purified from E. coli. Anti-human adiponectin mAb, clone 5H7, is derived from hybridization of mouse SP2/O myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human Acrp30 protein.

Description Human Adiponectin, also referred to as AdipoQ, Acrp30, apm-1 or GBP28, is a secreted protein expressed exclusively in differentiated adipocyte (an adipokine family member). Adiponectin contains a modular structure comprising an N-terminal collagenous domain followed by a C-terminal globular domain (gAcrp30). Adiponectin plays a role in various physiological processes such as energy homeostasis and obesity. Plasma levels of adiponectin are reduced in obese humans, and decreased levels are associated with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia.

Application Notes The antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for is 1:500 ~ 1:2000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1000. Please note that this antibody (5H7) has the specificity against collagen-like domain of adiponectin.
Concentration 1mg/ml
Purification The antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography. Can be stored at 4C for up to one month, but store at -20C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
