Additional Information

Alternative name Daxx
Format Purified
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone DAXX-1
Description The DAXX-01 monoclonal antibody recognizes human Daxx also known as Death domain-associated protein 6 and EAP1. Daxx is a ubiquitously expressed protein with a predicted molecular weight approximately 81 kD. Daxx binds to both Fas death domain and the apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and promotes Fas-mediated apoptosis through a signal transduction pathway involving the Jun amino-terminal kinase(JNK) pathway. Daxx is mainly located in the nucleus as a transcriptional repressor and also located in the cytoplasmic as a proapoptotic signal mediator. The DAXX-01 antibody has been shown to be useful for Western blotting and Immunocytochemistry. Daxx migrated with an apparent molecular weight of approximately 120 kDa on SDS-PAGE, this slower than expected migration may reflect the high content of acidic residues in Daxx. Distribution: Ubiquitously expressed Function: Daxx binds to both Fas death domain and the apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and promotes Fas-mediated apoptosis through a signal transduction pathway involving the Jun amino-terminal kinase(JNK) pathway. Daxx is mainly located in the nucleus as a transcriptional repressor and is located in the cytoplasmic as a proapoptotic signal mediator. Daxx plays a diverse role in transcriptional regulation and apoptosis depending on its cellular localization and cell type. Synonyms: Death domain-associated protein 6, EAP1 Structure: Daxx is an adaptor protein, has neither a death nor a TRAF domain, predicted molecular weight approximately 81 kD
Specificity ASK1, PAX5, TNFRSF6, SLC2A4/GLUT4, MAP3K5, TGFBR2, HSPB1/HSP27, CENPC1, ETS1, PML, UBE2I, MCRS1, HIPK1, HIPK2, PAX3, PAX7, DEK, HDAC1, HDAC2, HDAC3, Histone H4, Histones H2A, H2B, H3, H4 and SPOP proteins.
