Additional Information

Alternative name CD256 (APRIL)
Immunogen recombinant human APRIL protein
Format Purified
Isotype IgG2a, kappa chain
Clone T3-6
Description The T3-6 antibody recognizes human APRIL (CD256) also known as A proliferation-inducing ligand, TNF- and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 2 (TALL-2), TNF-related death ligand 1, and TNFSF13. APRIL is a member of the TNF superfamily, synthesized as a type II transmembrane protein, but cleaved by furin intracellularly to become secreted factor.. Several isoforms of APRIL can be produced by alternative splicing. APRIL, like other members of the TNF ligand superfamily, forms homodimers. The reported molecular weight of an APRIL monomer is approximately 27 kD. APRIL is highly expressed in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, and lymphoid tissues. Monocytes and macrophages also express APRIL, expression of APRIL is down-regulated following PMA/ionomycin treatment. APRIL has been implicated in B cell development and IgA class switching, T cell survival, and the stimulation of tumor cell growth. T3-6 antibody has been shown to be useful for flow cytometry and ELISA. Distribution: Highly expressed in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, and lymphoid tissues. Monocytes and macrophages express, down-regulated following PMA/ionomycin treatment Function: Has been implicated in B cell development and IgA class switching as well as T cell survival. Has also been reported to stimulate tumor cell growth. Synonyms: APRIL, TALL-2, A proliferation-inducing ligand, TNF- and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 2 (TALL-2), TNF-related death ligand 1, TNFSF13 Structure: Member of the TNF superfamily, synthesized as a type II transmembrane protein, but cleaved by furin intracellularly to become secreted factor.. Several isoforms produced by alternative splicing. Forms homodimers, reported molecular weight of monomer approximately 27 kD

Application Details

Application Notes Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is < 0.5 µg per 10 cells in 100 µl volume or 100 µl of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Purification The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography.
Buffer Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Storage The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4°C.
Restrictions For Research Use only
