| Description | Transglutaminase II catalyzes calcium-dependent post-translational modification ofproteins by formation of an isopeptide bond within or between polypeptide chains. It isalso known as TGC, tTG, type II-, Gh, cytosolic-, liver-, endothelial-, erythrocyte-,cellular-transglutaminase. Different tissues and cell types express varying amounts oftissue transglutaminase with a markedly hugh expression in rheumatoid lesions. It isimplicated in programmed cell death, signal transduction, drug-resistance, cell growth, endocytosis, insulin secretion, cell adhesion, cataract formation, and wound healing. |
| Specificity | Cellular Localization: cytoplasm, cell membrane, and extracellular matrix. Mol. Wt. of Antigen: 77-85kD. Epitope: aa 447-478. Species: Human, Dog, Rabbit, and Guinea Pig. Does not react with Mouse and Rat. Others not tested. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunofluorescence. Immunoprecipitation (Native and denatured): use Protein G and Ab at 2 µg/mg proteinlysate. Western Blotting: Ab 1-2 µg/ml for 2hrs at RT. Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): Ab 1-2 µg/ml for 30 min at RT, staining offormalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Recommended positive control: HUVEC Cells, Breast Carcinoma. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
