Immunogen Purified recombinant full-length human paxillin protein.
Clone 5H11
Isotype IgG1
Characteristics Synonyms: FLJ16691
Purification Affinity Chromatography on Protein G.
Alternative Name Paxillin / PXN
Background Paxillin is a 64 kDa cytoskeletal adapter protein involved in organisation and function offocal adhesions, which are critical to cell adhesion and migration. This in turn plays a rolein a wide variety of processes including embryogenesis, organogenesis, wound repair, inflammation and cancer. Paxillin contains LD motifs, LIM domains, SH3 and SH2 bindingdomains that serve as docking sites for cytoskeletal proteins, tyrosine kinases (e. g. , FAK,Pyk 2, Src), serine/threonine kinases, GTPase activating proteins and other adaptorproteins (e. g. , Actin, Vinculin, Crk).
UniProt P49023
Application Notes Immunofluorescence. Immunoprecipitation (Native): use Protein G and Ab at 2 g/mgprotein lysate. Western Blotting (1-2 ug/ml for 2hrs at RT). Immunohistology(Formalin/paraffin, 1-2 ug/ml for 30 min at RT, Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRESboiling tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0, for 10-20 mins followed by cooling at RT for 20mins, Recommended positive control: HeLa Cells, Colon Carcinoma). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
