Alternative Name Caspase-8
Background Caspase 8 binds to the death effector domain (DED) of FADD through an analogous DEDdomain present in tandem in the proform of the caspase 8 protein. Recruitment of caspase8 to the Fas receptor results in oligomerization of the caspase 8 protein, which in turndrives its autoactivation through “self-cleavage”. Activated caspase 8 then activates otherdownstream caspases including caspase 9, thereby commiting the cell to undergoapoptosis.

Application Notes Immunoprecipitation(2g/mgprotein lysate, Denatured verified, Use Protein G). Western Blotting (2-4g/mlfor 2hrs at RT). Positive Control: Jurkat cells. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
