Description
Clathrin consists of three heavy chain (192 kDa) and three light chains (LCa or LCb,25-29 kDa) and self-assembles into a polyhedral cytoskeletal element. Self-assemblyfacilitates clathrin's central role in membrane sorting and selective transport within thecell.
Specificity
This antibody detects Clathrin. It reacts with both LCa and LCb. Species: Human, Cow. Others not tested. Add. Information: Cellular Localization: Cell membrane and cytoplasm

Application Notes
Immunofluorescence. Immunoprecipitation (Denatured verified): use Protein A, 2 g/mg protein. Western Blotting (2): 1-2 ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT. Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): 1-2 ug/ml for 30 min at RT, staining of formalin-fixedtissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minfollowed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: Placenta. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
