Description EGP40 is a 40 kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein, also identified as epithelialspecific antigen (ESA), or epithelial cellular adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM). It is expressedon baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia and a vast majority of carcinomas. Itreportedly distinguishes adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.
Specificity This antibody detects Epithelium specific antigen. Cellular Localization: Cell membraneSpecies: Human. Others not tested.

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistology (Formalin/Paraffin): 1-2 µg/ml for 30 min at RT. Staining ofFormalin/Paraffin tissues REQUIRES digestion of tissue sections with pepsin at 1 mg/mlTris-HCl, pH 2.0 for 15 min at RT or 10 min at 37°C. Positive Control: Breast carcinoma. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 0.2 mg/ml
Buffer 10 mM PBS, pH 7.4 containing 0.2% BSA as stabilizer and 0.09% SodiumAzide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
