Description
Microtubule Associated Protein 2 exists in two high molecular weight forms (2a & 2b) and alow molecular weight form. The expression of MAP2 is developmentally regulated and itsmultiple forms arise by alternative splicing of a single gene.
Specificity
This antibody is specific to phosphprylated form of MAP2a,b,c and shows nocross-reaction with other MAPs, tau, and tubulin. It reacts with dendrites and cell bodies ofneurons. It is useful in studies of neuron structure in normal and malignantbrain tissue andin Alzheimer's. Species: Human, Cow, Rat, Xenopus, Quail. Others not tested. Add. Information: Cellular Localization: CytoplasmicEpitope: aa 1-151

Application Notes
Immunofluorescence. Western Blotting (1,2): 1-2 ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT. Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): 1-2 ug/ml for 30 min at RT, staining of formalin-fixedtissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minfollowed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: IMR-5 or T98G human glioblastoma cells or brain. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
