Description All names and symbols: STAT3, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (acute-phase response factor), APRF, DNA-binding protein APRF, acute-phase response factor, FLJ20882, MGC16063. Official Symbol: STAT3. RefSeq number(s): NP_003141.2, NP_644805.1. Gene ontology terms: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor signal transducer activity, transcription factor activity, JAK-STAT cascade, acute-phase response, neurogenesis, cell motility, signal transduction, regulation of transcription from Pol II promoter, negative regulation of transcription from Pol II promoter, cytoplasm, nucleus
Specificity This antibody is expected to recognise isoforms 1 and 2 (as represented by NP_644805.1 and NP_003141.2 respectively) Human, Mouse, Rat

Application Details

Application Notes Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128,000. Western Blot: Approx. 90kDa band observed in lysates of NIH3T3 (calculated MW of 88.0kDa according to NP_644805.1 and of 88.1 according to NP_003141.2). Recommended concentration: 1-3µg/ml. Immunohistochemistry: Stains mouse thymic medulla and not the cortex. Recommended overnight staining at 10ug/ml, see picture.
Purification Purified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide.
Buffer 0.5 mg/ml in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH7.3 with 0.5% bovine serum albumin.
Storage Aliquot and store at -20°C. Minimize freezing and thawing.
Restrictions For Research Use only
