Description
In accord with its role in protecting tissues from complement mediated lysis, the antigen CD55 is broadly distributed among cells in contact with serum, including both haematopoietic and non-haematopoietic cells. An acquired disorder, PNH which leads to bouts of haemolysis, is at least partially caused by a deficiency of CD55 and CD59 as a result of defects in GPI anchor biosynthesis.
Specificity
Reacts with the CD55 antigen, decay accelerating factor (DAF, GPI-linked, 70 kDa). Species Reactivity: Human, others not tested.
Application Notes
Flow Cytometry: approximate working dilution 1:10. Immunoprecipitation: approximate working dilution 1:10. Western blot: (non-reduced) approximate working dilution 1:10. The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the researcher.
