| Description | ATF-2 (activating transcription factor-2, CRE-BP1) is a transcription factor that binds thecAMP response element (CRE) and AP-1 response element and is abundantlyexpressed in the brain. Various forms of cellular stress, including genotoxic agents, inflammatory cytokines, and UV irradiation, stimulate the transcriptional activity of ATF-2(2). SAPK and p38 MAPK can activate, in response to cellular stress, ATF-2 byphosphorylating this protein at Thr69 and Thr71. Mutations of these sites result in theloss of stress-induced transcription by ATF-2 (2-4). Alternate Names: anti-Activating Transcription Factor 2 antibody, anti-cAMP Response Element BindingProtein 2 antibody, anti-CRE BP1 antibody, anti-CREB 2 antibody, anti-CREB2antibody, anti-CREBP1 antibody, anti-HB 16 antibody, anti-HB16 antibody,anti-MGC111558 antibody, anti-mXBP antibody, anti-TREB 7 antibody, anti-TREB7antibody. |
| Specificity | A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues N-terminus of human ATF-2 was used asimmunogen. The antibody does not cross-react with other ATF family members. Species Reactivity: Cross reacts with Human. Does not react with Mouse or Rat. |
