Immunogen A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the C-term of human Calponin was used as an immunogen.
Clone EP798Y
Isotype IgG
Purification IgG purified
Alternative Name Calponin-1
Background Calponin is a smooth muscle specific, actin-, tropomyosin- and calmodulin-bindingprotein thought to be involved in regulation of actomyosin as well as the regulation ormodulation of contraction (1). Calponin binds filamentous actin (F-actin) through twodistinct sites ABS1 and ABS2, with an affinity in the low micromolar range (2)Immunoreactivity for calponin, along with alpha-smooth muscle actin and smoothmuscle myosin heavy chains, confirms the known neoplastic myoepithelial componentof adenoid cystic carcinomas and epithelial-myoepithelial carcinomas. The consistentlypositive staining pattern in adenoid cystic carcinomas may be diagnostically useful indiscriminating histologically similar but consistently negative polymorphous low-gradeadenocarcinomas (3). Alternate Names: anti-Basic calponin antibody, anti-CNN 1 antibody, anti-CNN1 antibody, anti-Calponin 1antibody, anti-Calponin 1 basic smooth muscle antibody, anti-Calponin H1 smoothmuscle antibody, anti-Calponin1 antibody, anti-Calponins basic antibody, anti-SMCCantibody, anti-Sm Calp antibody.

Buffer Diluted in tris buffered saline, pH 7.3-7.7, with protein base, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Do not freeze.
Storage 4 °C
