| Swiss-Prot | O75888 |
| Immunogen | Synthetic APRIL (Tumor necrosis factor ligant superfamily member 13) |
| Cross-Reactivity | Human |
| Description | APRIL (A PRoliferation Inducing Ligand) a member of the TNF superfamily, is expressed inmonocytes, macrophages, certain transformed cell lines, certain cancers of colon, andlymphoid tissues. Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induceapoptosis. Two receptors for APRIL were recently identified and designated TACI andBCMA. APRIL stimulates B and T cell proliferation, triggers humoral immune responses, activates NF kB, and induces cell death. APRIL and its close relative of BlyS and theirreceptors BCMA and TACI are involved in diseases of autoimmunity and cancer. |
| Specificity | This antibody detects APRIL. Species: Human. Others not tested. |
