Immunogen Synthetic peptide mapping to the N-terminus adjacent to the cleavage site of human caspase-3
Isotype IgG
Specificity Preferentially recognizes active human/mouse/rat caspase-3 (p20 subunits) and does not detect the precursor form
Purification Affinity purified
Alternative Name Caspase-3
Background Caspase-3 has been extensively studied and implicated to play an important role in apoptosis. Active caspase-3 proteolytically cleaves and activates other caspases, as well as relevant targets in the cells (e.g., PARP). The affinity purified antibody recognizing the active forms of caspase-3 provides a new tool for identifying apoptotic cell populations in both tissue sections and cultured cells.
Gene ID 836
UniProt P42574
Research Area Apoptosis/Necrosis, Autophagy
Application Notes The antibody can be used for Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/mL) and immunohistochemistry (10- 20 µg/mL).
However the optimal concentrations should be determined individually.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Concentration 0.2 mg/mL
Buffer PBS containing 50 % glycerol, 1 % BSA, and 0.02 % thimerosal
Preservative Thimerosal (Merthiolate)
Handling Advice The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage -20 °C/-80 °C
Storage Comment For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70 °C.
