Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding AA 640 of human FAF1
Isotype IgG
Purification Affinity purified
Alternative Name FAF1
Background FAF1 (Fas-associated protein factor 1) specifically interacts with the cytoplasmic domain of wild type, but not mutated, Fas in both yeast and mammalian cells. When transiently expressed in T cells, FAF1 potentiates Fas-induced apoptosis. In contrast to TRADD, FADD, and RIP, FAF1 lacks a DDH (Death domain homologous region) and cannot induce apoptosis independent of Fas activation.
Gene ID 11124
Research Area Apoptosis/Necrosis
Application Notes The antibody can be used for Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/mL).
Based on researchers feedback, the antibody also works well in immunoprecipitation and immunohistochemistry.
However the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Rat kidney cell lysate can be used as a positive control.
