Additional Information

Alternative name TIRAP
Gene ID NP_473437
Swiss-Prot Q99JY1
Immunogen This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region near the carboxy terminus of mouse TIRAP protein.
Format Liquid (sterile filtered)
Description Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are signaling molecules that recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses. These proteins act through adaptor molecules such as TIRAP (Toll-interleukin 1 receptor domain-containing adaptor protein) and MyD88 to activate various kinases and transcription factors. In TIRAP-deficient mice, TLR signaling in response to TLR2 ligands (using either TLR1 or TLR6 as co-receptors) is totally abolished, suggesting that MyD88 and TIRAP work together and are both required for TLR2 signaling. Furthermore, these mice are also resistant to the toxic effects of LPS and show defects in NF- κ B and MAP kinase activation, suggesting that TIRAP is also involved in TLR4 signaling.
Specificity This IgG fraction antibody is directed against mouse TIRAP protein. This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. This antibody is reactive with TIRAP from human, mouse and rat sources. Cross reactivity with TIRAP from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details

Application Notes Recommended Dilutions: ELISA 1:10,000 - 1:40,000 WESTERN BLOT 0.5 -2 ug/ml IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY 2 ug/ml OTHER APPLICATIONS User Optimized. Note: This IgG fraction antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, immunohistochemistry and western blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at ~34 kDa in size corresponding to TIRAP by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml (by UV absorbance at 280 nm)
Buffer Stabilizer: None. Preservative: 0.02% (w/v) Sodium Azide. Buffer: 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2.
Storage Store vial at -20o C prior to opening. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20o C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of opening.
