Description
TRAIL-R3 (CD263, TR3, DcR1, LIT, TRID), expressed mainly on neutrophils, belongs toreceptors of TRAIL, a TNF-like membrane cytotoxic protein that induces apoptosis in manytumour cells, but not in normal cells. TRAIL-R3, however, is a GPI-anchored protein thatlacks cytoplasmic death domain, thus it is unable to induce apoptosis and serves as anegative regulator of apoptotic signaling by competing for binding of TRAIL with deathreceptor 5 (DR5).
Specificity
The antibody TRAIL-R3-02 reacts with TRAIL-R3, a 35 kDa GPI-anchored extracellularmembrane protein expressed mainly on neutrophils. Species: Human. Others not tested.
