Description
|
The Tic-complex (translocon of the inner envelope membrane of chloroplasts).coordinates sorting and import of nuclear encoded preproteins across thechloroplast inner envelope membrane. Identified protein components are Tic20,Tic22, Tic40, Tic55 and Tic110. The internal membrane component Tic110 hasbeen proposed to play a key role by binding preproteins during inner membranetranslocation and serving as a scaffold for the recruitment of stromal chaperonesto import sites.
