Format Liquid
Description Pseudomonas aeruginosa is Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacteria withunipolar motility. An opportunistic human pathogen, P. aeruginosa is also anopportunistic pathogen of plants. P. aeruginosa bacterias are clinically importantbecause they are resistant to most antibiotics and they are capable of surviving inconditions that few other organisms can tolerate. Pseudomonas is oftenencountered in hospital and clinical work because it is a major cause of hospitalacquired (nosocomal) infections. Its main targets are immunocompromisedindividuals, burn victims, and individuals on respirators or with precipitationprocedure followed by indwelling catheters. Additionally, these pathogenscolonize the lungs of cystic fibrosis patients. P. aeruginosa is often identified by itspearlescent appearance and grape-like odor in vitro. Definitive clinicalidentification of P. aeruginosa includes identifying the
Specificity Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains PAO1 , Habs1
