Immunogen Synthetic Peptide CMTSVATAKGYTSDL, representing the internal region of the human protein (residues 1546-1560), according to NP_002327.
Isotype IgG
Specificity This antibody is expected to recognise an epitope corresponding to aa 1546-1560 of human LRP6 protein.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Expected cross reactivity from sequence similarity: Mouse, Rat, Dog
Purification affinity purified
Alternative Name LRP6 (LRP6 Antibody Abstract)
Background LRP6 is essential for the Wnt/beta catenin signaling pathway, probably by acting as acoreceptor together with Frizzled for Wnt. It is a specific, high-affinity receptor for DKK1and DKK2, but not DKK3. The interaction with DKK1 blocks LRP6-mediated Wnt/betacatenin signaling via LRP6 removal via Kremen proteins-mediated endocytosis. Alternate Names: anti-Low density lipoprotein receptor related protein 6 antibody.
Gene Symbol: LRP6
Gene ID 4040
NCBI Accession NP_002327
Research Area Stem Cells, Cancer
Pathways WNT Signaling
Application Notes Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 50kDa and 35kDa in Human Adipose lysates after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 180kDa according to NP_002327.2. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands)..
Recommended dilutions: Immunohistochemistry 4-6 µg/mL, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 4-6 µg/mL, Peptide ELISA detection limit 1:64000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Concentration 0.5 mg/mL
Buffer Tris-saline containing [pH 7.3] with 0.5 % BSA, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment -20 °C.
