Alternative Name CD2BP2 (CD2BP2 Antibody Abstract)
Background CD2BP2 is an intracellular protein which binds to a site containing two PPPGHRsegments within the cytoplasmic region of CD2. Mutagenesis and NMR analysisdemonstrated that the CD2 binding region of CD2BP2 includes a 17 amino acid motifalso found in several yeast and Caenorhabditis elegans proteins of unknown function. InJurkat T cells, over expression of the isolated CD2BP2 domain binding to CD2enhances the production of interleukin 2 on crosslinking of CD2 but not the T cellreceptor. Alternate Names: anti-CD2 (cytoplasmic tail) binding protein 2 antibody, anti-CD2 antigen (cytoplasmictail) binding protein 2 antibody, anti-FWP010 antibody, anti-LIN1 antibody, anti-Snu40antibody.
Gene Symbol: CD2BP2
Gene ID 10421, 70233
NCBI Accession NP_006101
Research Area Immunology, Adaptive Immunity, CD Antigens
Pathways
Application Notes Approx 50kDa band observed in Human Lymph Node, Thymus and Tonsil lysates (calculated MW of 37.6kDa according to NP_006101.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Nishizawa et al, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 1998 Dec 8,95(25):14897-902).
Recommended dilutions: Peptide ELISA detection limit 1:32000, Western Blot 1:100-1:2000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Concentration 0.5 mg/mL
Buffer Tris saline [pH 7.3] containing 0.5 % BSA, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment -20 °C.
