Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a high affinity calcium ion-binding protein that isstructurally and functionally similar to calmodulin and troponin C. The encoded protein isthought to be involved in muscle relaxation. Alternate Names: anti-PVALB antibody, anti-parvalbumin antibody, anti-HGNC antibody, anti-9704antibody, anti-D22S749 antibody, anti-parvalbumin alpha antibody.
Specificity
This antibody is specific for Parvalbumin. Species Reactivity: Human, Rat.

Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000. Western Blot: Approx 12kDaband observed in Human Brain lysates (calculated MW of 12.1kDa according toNP_002845.1). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3 ug/ml. Approx 10-12kDaband observed in rat skeletal muscle and in rat heart cells transfected with humanPVALB, but not in untransfected rat heart cells.
