Description
Five human RAD51 homologs have been identified: XRCC2, XRCC3, RAD51B,RAD51C, and RAD51D. Each of these homologs interacts with one or more of theothers, with all of the proteins involved in one complex or multiple smaller complexes.XRCC3 (x-ray cross complementing) was first identified as a human genecomplementing the DNA damage sensitivity, chromosonal instability and impairedgrowth of the mutant hamster cell line irs1SF. This fact coupled with XRCC3 being amember of the RAD51 gene family have implied a role in the repair of DNA damage byhomologous recombination. Alternate Names: anti-DNA repair protein XRCC3 antibody, anti-X ray repair complementing defectiverepair in Chinese hamster cells 3 antibody, anti-X ray repair cross complementingprotein 3 antibody.

Specificity
This antibody is specific for XRCC3. Species Reactivity: Human XRCC3. Does not work in mouse. Other species not tested. ABIN151307 doesnot cross-react with Rad51B, Rad51C, Rad51D, Rad51, or XRCC2 in Western analysis. Localization: Nuclear.
