Alternative Name BRIP1 / FANCJ (BRIP1 Antibody Abstract)
Background BRIP1 (also called BACH1) is a helicase that interacts with the BRCT domain of BRCA1and has a role in BRCA1-dependent DNA repair and checkpoint. BRIP1 has recentlybeen found to be defective in Fanconi anemia complementation group J. BRIP1/FANCJhas a function in the Fanconi anemia pathway that is independent of BRCA1 anddownstream of FANCD2 activation. (1-4). Alternate Names: anti-FANCJ protein antibody, anti-BACH 1 antibody, anti-BACH1 BRIP1 antibody,anti-BRIP 1 antibod, anti-BRAC 1 Associated C Terminal Helicase 1 antibody,anti-BRCA 1 Interacting Protein 1 antibody, anti- Fanconi anemia group J protein.
Gene Symbol: BRIP1
Gene ID 83990
UniProt Q9BX63
Pathways DNA Damage Repair
Application Notes This FANCJ (pp15-IB4) antibody is useful for Immunoprecipitation and Western blot, where a band can be seen at 130 kDa.
Recommended dilutions: Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Western Blot 1:500-1:1000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage 4 °C
Storage Comment 4 °C short term. Aliquot and store at -20 °C long term.
