Immunogen A synthetic peptide made to the C-terminus (within residues 700-796) of the C.elegans DAF-3 protein.
Purification Whole antisera
Alternative Name DAF-3
Background Signals from TGF-beta superfamily receptors are transduced to the nucleus by Smadproteins, which transcriptionally activate target genes. In Caenorhabditis elegans(C.elegans), defects in a TGF-beta-related pathway cause a reversible developmentalarrest and metabolic shift at the dauer larval stage. DAF-3 transgenes interfere withdauer formation, playing a role in the nucleus. DAF-3 is unique in that it is antagonized, rather than activated, by a TGF-beta pathway. Alternate Names: anti-Abnormal dauer formation protein 3 antibody, anti-isoform c antibody, anti-DAF3antibody, anti-DAF 3 antibody.
Gene ID 180431
UniProt O17532
Application Notes This DAF-3 antibody is useful for Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (PMID 16777607), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot.
Recommended dilutions: Chromatin Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Immunohistochemistry 1:50-1:200, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:50-1:200, Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Western Blot 1:1000-1:5000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment Aliquot and store at -20 °C or -80 °C.
