Immunogen A synthetic peptide made to a C-terminal region of the human Crystallin AB protein(within residues 100-175). [Swiss-Prot P02511].
Specificity This antibody is specific for crystallin AB protein. Species Reactivity: Human and mouse. Other species have not been tested. The immunogen used for theproduction of this antibody has 100% homology with rat, sheep, rabbit, monkey, hamster, cow, and pig proteins and 92% homology with mouse protein.
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine)
Purification Affinity Purified
Alternative Name Alpha-crystallin B chain
Background Crystallin AB (CryAB) is a developmentally regulated small heat shock protein known toprotect cells from stress damage. It may also play an important role in the Golgireorganization during cell division. CryAB is known to be associated with a number ofneurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer disease amd multiple sclerosis. Aswell, it has been found to be expressed in breast tumors of patients with shorter survival, suggesting that it may be a useful marker in identifying aggressive breast cancer. Alternate Names: anti-Alpha crystallin B chain antibody, anti-CryAB antibody, anti-Alpha (B)-crystallinantibody, anti-Rosenthal fiber componet antibody, anti-Heat-shock protein beta-5antibody, anti-HspB5 antibody, anti-CryA2 antibody, anti-AACRYA antibody, anti-Alphacrystallin B chain antibody, anti-CRYA2 antibody, anti-Crystallin alpha polypeptide 2antibody, anti-CTPP 2 antibody, anti-CTPP2 antibody, anti-Heat shock 20 kD likeprotein antibody, anti-Heat shock protein beta 5 antibody, anti-HSPB5 antibody,anti-Rosenthal fiber component antibody.
