Description Compromised spindle checkpoints are thought to play an important role in geneticinstability that predisposes cells to malignant transformations. Human cells contain tworelated checkpoint protein kinases, evolved from the BUB1 gene, hBUBR1 and hBUB1. They are important components of the spindle checkpoint Both kinases monitor mitotickinetochore-microtubule interactions. hBUBR1 is essential for normal mitoticprogression as it prevents cells from entering into anaphase too early. BUBR1 hasbeen detected in human cancers. It has been identified as a novel binding partner ofBCSG1 (Breast Cancer-Specific Gene 1), which has been suggested to accelerate theprogression of breast cancer by compromising the mitotic checkpoint control throughinactivation of BUBR1. Alternate Names: anti-BubR1 antibody, anti-budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles related 1 antibody,anti-Bub1b antibody, anti-budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles 1 homolog betaantibody, anti-MAD3L antibody, anti-mitotic arrest deficient-like 3 like antibody.
Specificity ABIN151818 is specific for hBUBR1. There should be no cross-reactivity with hBUB1. Species Reactivity: Human and mouse. Other species have not been tested. Localization: Nuclear.
