Immunogen A synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 180-230 of human Livin, isoform alpha and isoform beta was used as immunogen (NP_647478).
Specificity Livin is a short-lived protein that is thought to be degraded by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Thus users may want to do a time course when examining the effects of treatments on Livin expression. Users are encouraged to refer to the literature for additional information, for example, Ma et al. 2006. 2. Livin has been shown to undergo proteolytic cleavage during apoptosis. Thus the molecular weight of Livin observed on Western blots may vary depending on the presence of absence of cleavage fragments.
Purification Unpurified
Alternative Name Livin (BIRC7 Antibody Abstract)
Background Gene Symbol: BIRC7
Molecular Weight Theoretical MW: 33 kDa
Gene ID 79444
UniProt Q96CA5
Research Area Apoptosis/Necrosis, Cancer
Application Notes Western Blot 1:1000-1:2000, Immunohistochemistry 1:1000-1:5000, Immunoprecipitation 1:50-1:200, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:1000-1:5000The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
