Immunogen Keyhole limpet haemocyanin conjugated Enterokinase cleavage site peptide DYKDDDDK. Residues of cysteine and glycine were used to facilitate coupling at the C-terminal end.
Isotype IgG
Specificity NB100-63146 is specific for the hydrophilic epitope tagging octapeptide sequence DYKDDDDK (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys), when fused to either the amino- or carboxyl- terminus of target proteins. This antibody has been tested against both the immunogen and recombinant proteins containing the DYKDDDDK sequence in ELISA and Western blotting and shows greater binding affinity and sensitivity to fusion proteins containing the DYKDDDDK sequence than the clones M1, M2 and M5, in the majority of assays. In Western blotting of bacterial extracts this antibody has been shown not to cross-react with any endogenous proteins.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Epitope tag. Non-species specific.
Purification IgG purified
Alternative Name DYKDDDDK Epitope Tag
Target Type Tag
Background This is a useful tool for the localisation and characterisation of DDDDK tagged proteins. Alternate Names: Anti-DDDDK epitope tag antibody, Anti-DYKDDDDK epitope tag antibody, Anti-ECSepitope tag antibody, Anti-ECS tag antibody, Anti-Enterokinase Cleavage Site epitopetag antibody, Anti-Enterokinase Cleavage Site tag antibody, Anti-DYKDDDDK antibody.
Research Area Tags/Labels
Application Notes In Western blotting of bacterial extracts, this antibody has been shown not to cross-react with any endogenous proteins.
Recommended dilutions: ELISA 1:9000-1:450000, Western Blot 1:2000-1:10000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Concentration 0.5 mg/mL
Buffer PBS, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage 4 °C
Storage Comment 4 °C short term. Aliquot and store at -20 °C long term.
