| Description | Junctional adhesion molecule 2 (JAM2), also know as JAMC, is a cell adhesionmolecule (CAM). JAM2 is a transmembrane protein which is a member of theimmunoglobulin superfamily found at intercellular junctions of endothelial cells. JAM2belongs together with JAMA (JAM or JAM1) and JAMB (VEJAM or JAM3) to a family ofadhesion proteins with a VC2 immunoglobulin domain organization. JAM plays animportant role in tight junctions where it is involved in cell to cell adhesion throughhomophilic interaction. It codistributes with other tight junction components as ZO-1,7H6 antigen, cingulin and occludin. JAM2 is potentially involved in the junctional sealingof the vascular endothelium, in particular of high endothelial venules (HEV). In adultmurine tissue JAM2 expression is reported to be restricted to high endothelial venules oflymphoid organs, lymphoendothelial cells and endothelial cells in kidney. In humans,JAM2 expression is not restricted to endothelial cells, but is also expressed on humanlymphocytes. Alternate Names: anti-Junctional Adhesion Molecule 2 antibody, anti-C21orf43 antibody, anti-CAMantibody, anti-CD 322 antibody, anti-CD322 antibody, anti-CD322 antigen antibody,anti-JAM 2 antibody, anti-JAM B antibody, anti-JAM IT/VE JAM antibody, anti-JAM2antibody, anti-JAMB antibody, anti-JAMC antibody, anti-Junction adhesion molecule Bantibody, anti-Junction adhesion molecule C antibody, anti-PRO 245 antibody,anti-PRO245 antibody, anti-Vascular endothelial junction associated molecule antibody,anti-VE JAM antibody, anti-VEJAM antibody. |
| Specificity | ABIN256234 recognises murine junctional adhesion molecule-2 (JAM-2), a 45kDtransmembrane protein a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily otherwise knownas CD322. In adult murine tissue CD322 expression is reported to be restricted to highendothelial venules of lymphoid organs, lymphoendothelial cells and endothelial cells inkidney. In humans, CD322 expression is not restricted to endothelial cells, but is also expressedon human lymphocytes. Species Reactivity: Mouse. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Membrane, single pass type I membrane protein. |
