Immunogen Synthetic peptide made to an internal portion of the human Striatin protein (within residues 350-400).
Specificity This antibody specific for Striatin. It does not cross-react with SG2NA.
Purification Whole antisera
Alternative Name Striatin / STRN
Background Striatin is found in all mammalian cells assayed and may be involved in vesiculartransport, dendrite growth, and cellular signaling. It binds Protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A) A and C subunits and calmodulin and appears to modulate PP2A activity. Italso binds the human homolog of the yeast protein, Mob1, which has been implicated inmitotic progression in yeast. It is a member of a family of proteins that also includesSG2NA and Zinedin. This antibody does not cross-react with SG2NA. Alternate Names: anti-STRN antibody, anti-MGC125642 antibody, anti-SG2NA antibody, anti-striatincalmodulin binding protein antibody.
Gene Symbol: STRN
Gene ID 6801, 268980, 29149
UniProt O43815
Application Notes This Striatin antibody is useful in Western blot, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Immunoprecipitation. In WB a band can be seen at ~110 kDa.
Recommended dilutions: Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence 1:5000, Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Western Blot 1:500-1:5000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage 4 °C
Storage Comment 4 °C short term. Aliquot and store at -20 °C long term.
