Description CD4 is a single chain transmembraneous glycoprotein (59 kDa) which belongs to theimmunoglobulin superfamily. CD4 is present on a subset of T lymphocytes(helper/inducer T cells) and is also expressed at a lower level on monocytes, tissuemacrophages and granulocytes. The antigen is involved in binding to MHC class IImolecules. The intracellular domain of the antigen is associated with p56lck proteintyrosine kinase.
Specificity This antibody recognizes a determinant designated L3T4 present on murine T-cell surfacewith an apparent molecular mass of 52kDa. The L3T4 antigen is expressed by thehelper/inducer subset of murine T-cells. The antigen is present on approximately 80% ofthymocytes, 20% of spleen cells and 60% of lymph node cells. The expression of L3T4correlates with class II MHC antigen reactivity on cloned T-cell lines.

Application Notes FACS analysis. immunofluorescence. depletion. immunoprecipitation. We recommend using 1g to stain 1.0 x 10e6 cells in flow cytometric application. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
