Description
GTP-binding proteins (G-proteins) play a critical role in signal transduction by couplingreceptors to effectors. The intracellular consequences of G-protein activation includesecond messenger generation (such as cyclic AMP, calcium and diacylglycerol), proteinphosphorylation, ion channel activation, gene induction, cell growth, and differentiation.
Specificity
Recognizes a single band of 39-42kDa, identified as the G i1 protein. This antibody is highly specific to Gi alpha1 and shows no cross-reaction with transducin, Galphao, Gi alpha2, Gi alpha3, or Gis. ADP-ribosylation of alphai1 protein does not alter the reactivity of this antibody. Species: Human, Rat, Mouse, Cow and Guinea pig. Others not tested.

Application Notes
Western Blot (1-5 µg/ml). Positive Control: IMR-5 cells or brain. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
