Background Lysosomal integral membrane protein II (LIMPII, also known as lpg85 and CD36L2) is amember of the scavenger receptor class B, member 2 family. LIMP II is ubiquitouslyexpressed in most higher organisms and is a major lysosomal and endosomalmembrane marker. The major portion of LIMPII resides on the luminal side andcontains numerous N-glycosylation sites. To date, studies have suggested that this478-residue type III glycoprotein may play a role as a scavenger receptor, in celladhesion and fatty acid transportation similar to that of CD36. Alternate Names: Anti-85 kDa lysosomal membrane sialoglycoprotein antibody, anti-85 kDa lysosomalsialoglycoprotein scavenger receptor class B member 2 antibody, anti-CD36 antigen(collagen type I receptor thrombospondin receptor) like 2 antibody, anti-CD36 antigenlike 2 antibody, anti-LIMPII antibody, anti-Lysosomal integral membrane protein IIantibody, anti-Lysosome membrane protein II antibody.

Application Notes This LIMPII/lpg85 antibody is useful for Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot, where a band is observed at ~85 kDa. Use in IHC-P was reported in scientific literature (PMID: 23863627).
