Immunogen
A synthetic peptide made to the C-terminus of mouse Cathepsin E.
Description
Cathepsin E may have a role in immune function. It is most likely involved in theprocessing of antigenic peptides during MHC class II-mediated antigen presentation. Itmay also play a role in activation-induced lymphocyte depletion in the thymus, and inneuronal degeneration and glial cell activation in the brain. Alternate Names: anti-EC 3.4.23.34 antibody, anti-Ctse antibody. Related Diseases: Cancer, Alzheimer's Disease
Specificity
This antibody is specific for Cathepsin E. Species Reactivity: Mouse, human, and rat. No other species have been tested. Localization: The proenzyme is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, while themature enzyme is localized to the endosome.
