Immunogen Synthetic peptide: V(115)LPSERISPQVPNEVLGPE(133).Immunizing peptidecorresponds to amino acids 115-133 from rat SAP 97. This sequence is 84% and 74%conserved in mouse and human SAP 97, respectively.
Isotype IgG
Specificity Detects SAP 97 from rat tissues. No cross-reactivity to other proteins, includingsynapse-associated protein family members, has been observed. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Rat. Expected to cross-react with Human and Mouse due tosequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Presynaptic membrane.
Cross-Reactivity Rat (Rattus)
Purification Purified
Alternative Name DLG1
Background Synapse-associated protein (SAP) 97 is a 97 kDa membraneassociated synapseprotein with extensive sequence homology to the PSD 95 family of proteins that facilitateion channel clustering at synaptic terminal. SAP97 consists of three 90 amino acid PDZdomains at its amino terminus, followed by a Src homology (SH) 3 domain, and a regionwith homology to guanylate kinases (GK). In addition to the CNS, SAP97 is alsodetected at the basal lateral membrane between a variety of epithelial cells. SAP97 isrecruited to the submembranous cortical cytoskeleton at cell-cell contact sites as part ofthe E-cadherin complex. Co-expression of SAP97 and K+ channel results in thecolocalization of these proteins in large round intracellular aggregates. SAP 97 has beenshown to have functional homology to Drosophila tumor suppressor protein (DlgA), aPSD 95 related protein involved in maintaining integrity of epithelial and neuromuscularjunctions. Alternate Names: anti-Discs large homolog 1 antibody, anti-Disks large homolog 1 antibody,anti-dJ1061C18.1.1 antibody, anti-DKFZp761P0818 antibody, anti-DLG 1 antibody,anti-DLG1 antibody, anti-DLGH 1 antibody, anti-DLGH1 antibody, anti-HDLG antibody,anti-Presynaptic protein SAP97 antibody, anti-SAP 97 antibody, anti-sap97 antibody,anti-Synapse associated protein 97 antibody.
Gene ID 1739, 25252
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1/1000. Western Blot: use at a dilution of1/1000.Not tested in other species. Optimal dilution / concentration should bedetermined by the end user.By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~140 kDa proteinrepresenting SAP 97 from rat brain extract. Immunohistochemical staining of SAP 97 inrat hippocampus results in intense neuronal cell body and dendrite staining.
