Background Chromatin is a highly specialized structure composed of tightly compacted chromosomalDNA. Gene expression within the nucleus is controlled, in part, by a host of proteincomplexes which continuously pack and unpack the chromosomal DNA. One of theknown mechanisms of this packing and unpacking process involves the acetylation anddeacetylation of the histone proteins comprising the nucleosomal core. Acetylatedhistone proteins confer accessibility of the DNA template to the transcriptionalmachinery for expression. Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are chromatin remodelingfactors that deacetylate histone proteins and thus, may act as transcriptional repressors.HDACs are classified by their sequence homology to the yeast HDACs and there arecurrently 2 classes. Class I proteins are related to Rpd3 and members of class IIresemble Hda1p. Alternate Names: Anti-HA6116 antibody, Anti-HD 4 antibody Anti-HD4 antibody, Anti-HDAC 4 antibody,Anti-HDAC A antibody, Anti-HDACA antibody, Anti-Histone Deacetylase 4 antibody,Anti-Histone Deacetylase A antibody, Anti-KIAA0288 antibody.

Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
