| Description | Accumulating evidence demonstrates that cytokine receptorsignaling is negativelyregulated by a family of Srchomology 2 domain-containing adaptor moleculesTermedSOCS (Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling). To date, there are eight members ofSOCS family have beenrecognized, they are SOCS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and CIS.Structurally the SOCS proteins are composed of an Nterminalregion of variable lengthand amino acidcomposition, a central SH2 domain, and a previouslyunrecognizedC-terminal motif that we have called the SOCS box. The SOCS proteins appear to formpart of aclassical negative feed back loop that regulates cytokinesignal transduction viaa STAT induced transcriptionalmechanism. Transcription of each of the SOCSgenesoccurs rapidly in vitro and in vivo in response to cytokines, and once produced, the various members of the SOCSfamily appear to inhibit signaling in different ways.SOCS 2, not like SOCS 1 and SOCS 3, regulates postnatalgrowth, likely through itsability to influence the GH / IGF 1axis, although they might have overlapping actions. Alternate Names: anti-CIS 2 antibody, anti-CIS2 antibody, anti-Cish 2 antibody, anti-Cish2 antibody,anti-Cytokine inducible SH2 protein 2 antibody, anti-SOCS 2 antibody, anti-SSI 2antibody, anti-SSI2 antibody, anti-STAT induced STAT inhibitor 2 antibody, anti-STATI 2antibody, anti-STATI2 antibody, anti-Suppressor of cytokine signaling 2 antibody. |
