Background CRK7 is a CDC2/CDK -type protein kinase. Also known as CRKRS, the protein has anarginine/serine-rich (RS) domain that is found predominantly in splicing factors, andextensive proline-rich regions that match the consensus for SH3 and WW domainbinding sites. Anti-CrkRS immunoprecipitates have been shown to phosphorylate theC-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II in vitro. CRK7 has been shown to beexpressed ubiquitously. ESTs have been isolated from several tissue libraries, includingnormal lymph and cancerous bone.
