Immunogen A synthetic peptide (CRLYELLHGAGNHAAGILTL) as part of Bovine Orexin A (aa: 14-33) conjugated to KLH has been used as the immunogen.
Isotype IgG
Specificity The specificity for this antiserum has been confirmed by immunohistochemistry on rat brain and the results reflect the current literature.
Purification Whole antisera
Alternative Name Orexin-A
Background FUNCTION: Neuropeptides that play a significant role in the regulation of food intakeand sleep-wakefulness, possibly by coordinating the complex behavioral andphysiologic responses of these complementary homeostatic functions. A broader role inthe homeostatic regulation of energy metabolism, autonomic function, hormonal balanceand the regulation of body fluids, is also suggested. Orexin-A binds to both OX1R andOX2R with a high affinity, whereas orexin-B binds only to OX2R with a similar highaffinity (By similarity). SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Endoplasmic reticulum, roughendoplasmic reticulum (By similarity). Associated with perikaryal rough endoplasmicreticulum as well as cytoplasmic large granular vesicles at synapses (By similarity).SIMILARITY: Belongs to the orexin family. Alternate Names: anti-Orexin-A antibody, anti-Hypocretin-1 antibody, anti-Hcrt1 antibody. Related Diseases: Neuropeptides & Receptors
Gene Symbol: HCRT
Gene ID 3060, 15171, 25723
