Immunogen A synthetic peptide (CRLYELL HGAGNHAAGI LTL) as part of Bovin Orexin A (aa:12-33) conjugated to KLH.
Isotype IgG
Specificity The specificity for this antiserum has been confirmed by immunohistochemistry on ratbrain and the results reflect the current literature. Species Reactivity: Reacts with rat, bovine, mouse and human. Localization: Accession Number: OREX_BOVIN.
Cross-Reactivity Cow (Bovine), Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Alternative Name Orexin-A
Background FUNCTION: Neuropeptides that play a significant role in the regulation of food intakeand sleep-wakefulness, possibly by coordinating the complex behavioral andphysiologic responses of these complementary homeostatic functions. A broader role inthe homeostatic regulation of energy metabolism, autonomic function, hormonal balanceand the regulation of body fluids, is also suggested. Orexin-A binds to both OX1R andOX2R with a high affinity, whereas orexin-B binds only to OX2R with a similar highaffinity (By similarity). SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Endoplasmic reticulum, roughendoplasmic reticulum (By similarity). Associated with perikaryal rough endoplasmicreticulum as well as cytoplasmic large granular vesicles at synapses (By similarity).SIMILARITY: Belongs to the orexin family. Alternate Names: anti-Orexin-A antibody, anti-Hypocretin-1 antibody, anti-Hcrt1 antibody. Related Diseases: Neuropeptides & Receptors
