Immunogen A synthetic peptide (RRYSRRFQTIDIEPDIEALL) corresponding to the amino acids 175-194 of human lutathione peroxidase 1 ( GPx-1) conjugated to diphtheria toxin has been used as the immunogen.
Specificity This has been shown to be specific for glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPx-1) protein.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Other species have not yet been tested.
Purification affinity purified
Alternative Name Glutathione peroxidase 1 / GPX1
Background FUNCTION: Protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown.CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: 2 glutathione + H2O2 = glutathione disulfide + 2 H2O.SUBUNIT: Homotetramer. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. SIMILARITY:Belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family. Alternate Names: anti-GSHPx-1 antibody, anti-GPx-1 antibody, anti-Cellular glutathione peroxidase.GENE NAME: GPX1 antibody, biosensis. Related Diseases: Antioxidant Enzymes
Gene Symbol: GPX1
Gene ID 2876, 24404
Application Notes IHC-P/Fr, WB. This antibody works superbly in Immunohistochemistry on frozen or paraffin embedded tissues. Antigen retrieval has been used in testing but may not be necessary. Typical working dilutions for routine For western blotting a dilution range of 1: 10000 to 1: 100000 is recommended. For ELISA, a dilution of 1: 2000 to 1: 20000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
