    Background
Kcnh2 is a pore-forming (alpha) subunit of voltage-gated inwardly rectifying potassium channel. Channel properties are modulated by cAMP and subunit assembly. It mediates the rapidly activating component of the delayed rectifying potassium current in heart (IKr).
