Additional Information

Immunogen Pepsin antibody (biotin) was raised in goat using Pepsin [Porcine Stomach] as the immunogen.
Description Pepsin is an enzyme whose precursor form (pepsinogen) is released by the chief cells in the stomach and that degrades food proteins into peptides. It was discovered in 1836 by Theodor Schwann who also coined its name from the Greek word pepsis, meaning digestion (peptein: to digest). It was the first animal enzyme to be discovered, and, in 1929, it became one of the first enzymes to be crystallized, by John H. Northrop. Pepsin is a digestive protease.
Specificity Cross reactivity against Pepsin from other sources may occur but have not beenspecifically determined.

Application Details

Purification Pepsin antibody (biotin) was purified by delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by dialysis.
Buffer Lyophilized from 0.02M K3PO4, pH 7.2, with 0.15M naCl, 10 mg/ml BSA and 0.01% NaN3. Immunoglobulin and protease free.
Storage Store at 4 °C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution aliquot and freeze at -20 °C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
