Description Caveolin 1 is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most celltypes. Caveolin 1 functions as a membrane adaptor to link integrin subunits to the tyrosinekinase FYN, an initiating step in coupling integrins to the Ras-ERK pathway and promotingcell cycle progression. CAV1 may also be a tumor suppressor gene and a negative regulatorof the Ras-p42/44 MAP kinase cascade.
Specificity This antibody detects Caveolin-1 (CAV1), N-terminal region. Species Reactivity: Tested: Human. Expected from sequence similarity: Mouse and Rat.

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections (3 µg/ml). Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100°C for 20min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1xTBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml
Buffer PBS containing 0.09% Sodium Azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C to -70°C forlonger. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
