Characteristics Synonyms: CAV1
Alternative name Caveolin-1
Swiss-Prot Q03135
Immunogen Synthetic peptide - KLH conjugated, N-terminal of humanRemarks: Mouse Identity: 93 %Mouse Similarity: 100 %Rat Identity: 93 %Rat Similarity: 100 %
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Description Caveolin 1 is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most celltypes. Caveolin 1 functions as a membrane adaptor to link integrin subunits to the tyrosinekinase FYN, an initiating step in coupling integrins to the Ras-ERK pathway and promotingcell cycle progression. CAV1 may also be a tumor suppressor gene and a negative regulatorof the Ras-p42/44 MAP kinase cascade.
Specificity This antibody detects Caveolin-1 (CAV1), N-terminal region. Species: Human, Mouse, Rat. Others not tested. Add. Information: Mouse Identity: 93 %Mouse Similarity: 100 %Rat Identity: 93 %Rat Similarity: 100 %

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (17 ug/ml). Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100C for 20min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1xTBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml
Purification Aff - Purified
Buffer Phosphate buffered saline containing 0.09% sodium azide
Storage Store the antibody at 2 °C to 8 °C up to one month or (in aliquots) at -20 °C to -70 °C forlonger. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
